Webinar: “Managing Supply Chains Beyond Covid-19: Preparing for the Next Global Mega-Disruption.”

The Journal of Supply Chain Management is hosting a webinar on “Managing Supply Chains Beyond Covid-19: Preparing for the Next Global Mega-Disruption.” It will provide an advance look at our upcoming issue (January, 2021) of invited essays on this topic by notable scholars, including Chris Tang, Christine Harland, Gyongyi Kovacs, David Ketchen, Chris Craighead, and others, organized by Kevin Dooley and Arash Azadegan. Specific topics include:

  • Leveraging the embeddedness of small business capabilities in supply chains to deal with a global supply chain disruption

  • Future resilience strategies for MNCs, including localized capacity, overseas redundancies and nurturing partnerships across related industries

  • Learning from humanitarian supply chains and disaster management approaches to managing crises

  • Collaboration across firms, industries and sectors through coopetition, integration of technology and human labor, and use of online platforms

  • “Meso-level” resilience strategies that leverage industry collaboration to prepare for managing risks and minimize the impact of major crises

The essays profiled in this webinar will offer novel and breakthrough perspectives on how risk, resilience, and recovery from global disasters are viewed from both a research and managerial perspective. There is no charge for webinar, however advance registration is required. It will take place on Thursday, October 29 at 10:00 EDT (16:00 CET).
